Community

From 2015 through 2022, Apogee and our business units gave over $1.3 million in financial grants to support charitable organizations and non-profits. Across the United States and Canada, we donate to a variety of organizations that contribute to strong and successful communities. We have been long-term supporters of organizations like the Killebrew-Thomson Memorial Fund, which benefits cancer research, and Higher Achievement, which helps prepare middle school kids for success in college and their careers.

United Way

Apogee’s annual United Way campaigns have long been the cornerstone of the company’s charitable giving effort. Through pledges, special events and corporate donations, we have been able to make a positive impact while promoting the spirit of philanthropy companywide. In 2023, Apogee’s corporate office, along with five of our business units, ran United Way campaigns. Apogee’s employees, together with corporate matching gifts, contributed over $250,000 for United Way.

Apogee Impact Award

In 2020, Apogee introduced the Apogee Impact Award to recognize employees across the company who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in their communities, through volunteer service and leadership. Each quarter, the award is selected and presented by Apogee’s Chief Executive Officer and features a $1,000 donation to a charity of the recipient’s choosing.

Across our company, employees of Apogee and our business units generously give their time by volunteering in the community. Apogee fosters volunteerism through the ASIST program, Apogee & Subsidiaries In-Service Team. Employee leadership committees select, plan, and organize company sponsored volunteer events throughout the year. We encourage employees to participate in these various opportunities to make a difference while working alongside colleagues and even family members! Whether it’s volunteering at local school events, delivering nutritious meals to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities through Meals on Wheels, or preparing sandwiches to help feed the homeless, we are pleased to partner with local organizations to better our communities. Many Apogee employees also give their time and expertise by serving in leadership roles or as board members for community organizations. Together we strive to make a positive impact.

Meals on Wheels

Apogee is proud to partner with the local Meals on Wheels program to deliver nutritious meals to city residents striving to live independently. In the past year alone, we have delivered over 700 meals, with participation from nearly 40 percent of the corporate team. We look forward to our tenth year of making a positive impact in the community.

363 Days Food Program

Two years ago, Apogee started a partnership with a program called 363 Days, which provides sandwiches for the homeless 363 days out of the year. Apogee schedules three packing events annually, inviting employees to make and pack over 700 sandwiches for the local homeless population.

Perhaps the longest-lasting impact Apogee has made in the communities where we operate is by investing in our business to strengthen the local economy and create good jobs. Each year, Apogee invests tens of millions of dollars in new or improved facilities and equipment that add to the economic vitality of the communities where we do business.

We are particularly proud of Apogee’s participation in the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) Program. The NMTC Program is designed to incentivize private investment to help reinvigorate struggling local economies. Apogee has invested tens of millions of dollars in numerous facilities to help bring economic growth and new jobs to disadvantaged communities.
